Recently, IDMIL lab member PhD candidate Erivan Duarte organized the workshop “Bridging Music Inclusion through Conversations with Music Tech Researchers, Deaf, and CODA Artists [*Child of Deaf Adult],” in collaboration with CIRMMT.

The workshop explored emerging music technologies designed to promote accessibility and inclusion for the Deaf community, with a focus on the potential of haptics in music. Researchers presented new technologies, Deaf artists shared their experiences with multisensory musical technologies, and participants engaged in hands-on demos and a roundtable discussion. IDMIL members actively participated in the workshop, including Prof. Marcelo Wanderley, who served as moderator, along with Erivan Duarte and Master’s student Oren Ronen, who showcased their demos.

We thank all the attendees and presenters for making this a meaningful event in bridging music inclusion! For more information, please visit the link.
