Description:
The mubone is an augmented trombone that incorporates motion sensing, space, and the directional gestural language of the trombone into live musical performance and improvisation. Lead by Travis West and Kalun Leung, the project explores the ongoing re-imagining of the identity of the new instrument, and its relation to its predecessor trombone and the gestural and musical affordances introduced by the addition of sensors.
